This payment is for a five-session workshop series with Clay Palmer, held weekly on Thursdays from 6-8pm beginning July 30th at A.R.T./New York South Oxford Space in Brooklyn (138 S Oxford St, Brooklyn, NY 11217).
Our Level Two workshop is a deeper dive into the Neo-Futurist aesthetic for artists ready to push their work further. Building on your existing Neo-Futurist experience, you'll create new material through writing prompts, collaboration, revision, and experimentation. Together, we'll explore dialogue plays, anti-plays, and ambitious high-concept, low-budget theater while examining how multimedia, technology, and performance can expand the possibilities of the form.
Over four weekly 2-hour workshops and one public performance (5 weeks total), participants will:
develop and revise original Neo-Futurist work
create dialogue plays, anti-plays, and experimental performance pieces
analyze existing Neo-Futurist work and artistic techniques
explore multimedia, technology, and practical lighting in performance •
eceive personalized feedback on writing and performance
direct, rehearse, collaborate, and perform new work
deepen their understanding of the Neo-Futurist aesthetic and their own artistic voice
