We are Searching for
a New Home
in 2024!

The New York Neo-Futurists are seeking a new space for our late-night awarding-winning show The Infinite Wrench, currently at the Kraine Theater.

  • “The hardest working theater group in the city right now."
    Time Out New York

"An impish illustration of how lively entertainment can be created from theatrical spare parts.”
The New York Times (Critic’s Pick)

"This long-running Off-Off-Broadway gig proved itself equal to anything the big boys offer.”
Forbes Magazine, listed Best Theater of 2015

The New York Neo-Futurists are a prolific and dynamic ensemble of multidisciplinary artists who write and perform original work rooted in the truth of our own lived experiences. We fuse elements of poetry, game, and performance art to create ever-changing theater and other artistic experiments to respond to the world around us. Since opening in Brooklyn in 2004, the New York Neo-Futurists have premiered over 6,700 short plays in their radical theatre mechanisms The Infinite Wrench (2017-present) and Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (2004-2016).

  • The Infinite Wrench is a constantly-evolving weekly performance of 30 original plays in one hour.

Every week, a rotating cast of Neo-Futurists writes, directs, and performs 30 short plays that serve as a living time capsule of our current world. Each show is framed by a one-hour timer; the cast attempts to perform all 30 plays before time runs out. The plays are performed in a random, audience-selected order. When the timer runs out, our show ends. Each night, an audience member is invited to roll a 6-sided die, which determines how many brand-new plays must be written for the next week’s shows. These mechanisms of chance and controlled chaos ensure that our work is fresh and grounded in the present, while allowing room for all of our artists who rotate in and out of the show to tell their individual stories equally.

Moving into our 20th season, our 100+ ensemble members – active and alumni – have written and produced more than 6,700 new plays.

  • While The Infinite Wrench can happen almost anywhere, we have a few things on our wishlist. We would love:

    1. A space that can fit up to 99 audience members

    2. A space with a lighting grid, or at least a way to achieve a full blackout

    3. A space in lower Manhattan or Brooklyn, at a reasonable distance from a subway station

    4. A space with single-stall or gender neutral restrooms

    5. A space that is ADA compliant

    6. Consistent rehearsal space in the building or nearby

  • The Infinite Wrench is a late night show that does not use a set, making it minimally intrusive to any normal venue operations. Our stellar and experienced technical staff members are available for any trainings needed to safely open, operate, and close any space we perform in.
